Solomon Islands Special Economic Zone Plan to Attract Investors

Jayapura, DP/Jubi - Solomon Islands Government felt the need to establish a Special Economic Zone for that investors interested in investing in this island nation.
 
This comes after the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Manasseh Sogavare met Chinese company says willing to rehabilitate the Honiara International Airport and the main road that connects the airport to the city.
"We want the green light to invest in the tourism sector of Solomon," said Jason Liu Tao, a spokesman for the Chinese company to Solomon Times, Saturday (18/04/2015).


Liu Tao, called the Solomon Islands as the 'city of gold' with great investment potential in the tourism sector and the company can guarantee employment and the economy becomes increasingly tub for Solomon Islanders.

Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare, said his government wants to encourage foreign investment in various sectors of the economy.
"We are planning a special economic zone by law to be filed in the next parliamentary session in July," said Manasseh Sogavare.

According Sogavare special economic zone will bring investment incentives such as tax holidays, and so on. (tablooidjubi.com/The Daily Papua)
