Without Smelter, Governor of the People's State of Papua Banish Freeport

Jakarta, Jubi  - Governor of Papua Luke Enembe declare the Papuan people will shut down and expel the PT Freeport from the province if not build a smelter or processing minerals in that area as well.

"All the people of Papua reject Freeport smelter in Gresik, East Java while the raw material of Papua," said Luke Enembe at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Thursday (29/1) night.
He stated Papua will not progress if only exploited their natural resources without any processing at the same location. 
"When Papua going forward, we and the regents agreed that the smelter was built in Papua, if not all just Freeport out of Papua," he said.


Luke mentions available large tracts of land for the construction of a smelter in the area including the potential waterfalls that can be used to generate electricity to hundreds of megawatts. 
"If the company did not want to build a smelter then we will build it yourself and later investors of any need to use the smelter owned Papua province," he said.

Luke mentions in addition to discussing the problems of rejection Freeport build a smelter in East Java, a meeting with the President, Joko Widodo, it also discusses the Papua Special Autonomy Bill.
"There are two things that are discussed including the Papua Special Autonomy Bill," he said.
He said the official documents related to the existing bill in Parliament and Council. 
"We convey to the President to take the best way to resolve problems in Papua. The President has to Papua and dialogue, we hope the problem Papua well resolved, "said Luke. (tabloidjubi.com/The Daily Papua)
